New Friends!

We have very exciting news here at All Around Dog Training. Autism Assistance Dog in training Carolina has gotten two new friends! They are going to be spending the next several months socializing, training, learning, and playing together. They are working hard on being confident in new situations, learning basic obedience, and of course trying their hardest to only pee and poo outside.

Please welcome our newest service dogs in training: Wilson and his brother Charlie!

Meet Wilson, Wilson is a 12 week old Goldendoodle, with a great personality, he is always willing to put in the work for his tasty rewards. Wilson is in training to be a Psychiatric Service Dog for a woman right here in NC! We are excited about all the hard work that is in store for him, and I know he is up for any challenges that come his way.

Carolina and Wilson have become fast friends and love doing everything together; from socializing to playing with their favorite toys. Carolina, being a little bit older, has taken over the “big sister” role with ease. She is doing her best to teach Wilson the ropes and what is expected of service-dog-in-training puppies.

On Wilson’s first outing we went to Auto Zone and she proudly walked in front of Wilson, sitting at all the proper moments and walking nicely. Whether she is trying to teach Wilson what to do or showing off that “She can do it better”, it is clear that she is the perfect sister/mini-mentor for Wilson along this part of their journey in life together.

And meet Charlie, Wilson’s brother and partner in crime! Because I have had Wilson for a few weeks longer then Charlie, Charlie is playing a little bit of catch up. Thankfully both Wilson and Carolina are being patient while Charlie adjusts to the chaos of balancing being a puppy and learning how to be a good little service dog in training. Charlie is just as smart as his brother though and going out of his way to prove his worth! Charlie is in training to be a sturdy Autism Assistance Dog for a boy in South Carolina. We are excited as we watch this sweet boy transform the live of his human boy as they grow up together.

Wilson and Charlie have learned a lot from Carolina already, but they both have plenty to teach her as well. Wilson has such a goofy personality he is doing his best to teach her that she is still a dog even with her work to do! While Charlie is very laid back so Carolina is learning to take the hint from him that it’s ok to just relax and chill for a few minutes. It is good to have both of these characteristics mixed well together to make a well balanced service dog, I am glad that they are going to be able to help each other learn along the way! We so are excited to watch as these three cuties learn and grow together as they prepare for the important jobs ahead of them!
